In the fall, become a morning person.

If you’ve been hoping to become a morning person but haven’t been able to do so in prior seasons, fall could be the moment for you. During this season, you have a revitalized feeling of purpose and more inspiration to make healthy changes, such as starting a new morning routine a little earlier.

First thing in the morning, get some fresh air.

Get fresh air throughout your home as soon as you wake up in the morning. Let the fresh air in by opening all the windows and any doors with screens. If you have the opportunity, go outside for a few minutes on your porch or patio.

Even before you have a cup of coffee or tea, fresh air might help you feel more energized. It’s both stimulating and calming to take a deep breath of fresh morning air. If journaling is a part of your morning ritual, take it outside to your balcony or patio and write while taking in the fresh air.

Leave your phone at home.

Trying to break the habit of checking your phone first thing in the morning is a good start. It’s tempting to check your phone to see what alerts you missed overnight, but this is too distracting and will put you in a stressful condition.

These messages move you from a tranquil morning to a state of stress and anxiety in a matter of seconds. You begin to overthink, making it difficult to concentrate and be productive. Mornings must begin as gently as possible if you want to be a morning person.

Enjoy a cup of hot tea.

In the morning, drink tea or hot water with lemon to hydrate and nourish your body. Avoid carbonated beverages such as soft drinks and energy drinks in favor of something soothing to your throat.If you’re dehydrated, starting with a large glass of water is a good suggestion.

Make a list of your goals for the day.

Set your intentions as you begin to wake up and become more attentive in the morning. This is similar to making a to-do list, but it also takes into account your mood swings and how you want to feel during the day.

Begin preparing the night before.
